Babalwa Mentjies is an accomplished Jazz Singer, currently residing in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. She is a polished songwriter and a great vocalist/entertainer, a University of Kwazulu Natal school of Music graduate, and also holds PG Dip in Marketing Management. She is currently a Music Educator/ Project Administrator at IMAD Institute for Music and Indigenous Arts Development, Khayelitsha. Babalwa is currently performing with great George Werner: Founder of IMAD & IMAD teacher’s band, Afro Fiesta, Governor Tiggy Tafari Jamaica, Roots Rockers and others. Recently shared the stage with her all-time favourite Jazz Legend “Gloria Bosman at a Women’s Day Celebration Concert that took place at Stellenbosch University on 8 August 2018 backed by the Stellenbosch Big Band conducted by Felicia Lesch.
